Program exposure

The Program (P) mode is similar to the automatic mode. Although the camera selects an initial aperture and shutter speed, the photographer can turn a dial to select alternate exposure combinations. Program mode allows the photographer to increase or decrease shutter speed, and the camera will adjust the aperture to match. Alternatively, the photographer can control depth of field by changing the aperture and allowing the camera to select the appropriate shutter speed.
